Since the very beginning it was obvious that Soldier Alexei is a hard nut to crack. So the interrogation techniques applied to him were more sofisticated than usual. Alexei was suspended by his wrists with the legs bended in the knees and the candles attached to his vulnerable soles. In that stressed position he was flogged and his feet were tormented in the same time.
